Marian Janet "Queen" Stanley, age 90, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022 at her home in Marion, Illinois.
Janet was born April 12, 1932 in Crab Orchard, Illinois, a daughter of Virgil and Mary Helen (Motsinger) Cox. She retired August 31, 1992 from the Federal Prison System, where she worked more than twenty years as a secretary. She was a gifted pianist, enjoyed baking delicious pies, and loved her family.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Brent Royal, Farah Wallace, and Lori Norman; five siblings, Ruth Ann Pate, Mary Esther "Old Mean Sister" Parrish, Paul William Utley, James Ronald Utley, and David Steven Utley; and her Great Granddaughter, Whitney Royal, Great Grandson Dylan Royal, Great Granddaughter Rhiannon Royal, Great Granddaughter Taylor Royal, Great Granddaughter Kaitlynn Royal, Great Granddaughter Cierra Wallace, Great Granddaughter Payton Roberts, Great Granddaughter- Jaydon Roberts, Great Granddaughter Adyson Roberts, Great Great Grandchildren- Jaden Wiseman, Shauron Parnell Jr., Hadley Royal, Malachi Parnell, and Brielle Wallace, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by one daughter, Cathy Charlotte Stanley; her parents, Mary Helen (Motsinger) and Virgil Cox; seven siblings, Thomas Utley, Obie Utley, Betty Jane Utley, Helen Uline Hope, Donald Eugene Utley, John Robert Utley, and Ida Jean Cox; and her Great Granddaughter, Hannah Lydikssen.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 19th, 2022 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Blue Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022, 1:00 PM at Blue Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Parker and Pastor Steve Utley officiating. Burial will follow at Shed Cemetery in Crab Orchard.
