Margaret Shotton Marion-Margaret Shotton, 92, of Marion passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at her home. Funeral services for Margaret will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 11 AM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Victor Long officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent C/O Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959. Margaret was born on March 18, 1919 in Marion to Frank & Grace (Brown) Odum. She married John “Jack” Shotton on November 19, 1939 in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her on February 25, 2004. She is survived by her children, John & Nina Shotton, Jr., of Pinkneyville and Kay & David Atwood of Marion; daughter-in-law, Marsha Shotton of Marion; grandchildren, Stephanie & David McDaniel of Los Crusos, NM, Brad & Debbie Shotton of Sydney, IL, Kim & Kenny Homann of Jacksonville, IL, Melanie & Jeff Pecord of Marion and Craig & Kelly Shotton of Marion; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Aaron, Chelsea, Taylor, Jordan, Logan, Brennan, Nathan, Tigist, Myles, Tsihon; great-great-grandchildren, Zachary, Megan, Courtney, Jared, Shelby, Charlotte and Kayleigh. Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband; parents; son, Jim Shotton and brother, Lester Odum. Margaret was a legal secretary for Southern Illinois Power Co-Operative. Her greatest love was her family, most notably her grandchildren who fulfilled her life with every moment she doted upon them.
