Marc Tyler Smith

Marc Tyler Smith, 55, of Pittsburg, Illinois, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024. Born on October 2, 1969, to Robert Wayne Smith and Helen Harmon (née Rorer), Marc lived a life full of love, resilience, and cherished memories. 

Despite lifelong disabilities, Marc found purpose and pride in his work at Centerstone, where he contributed to their document shredding operations. Marc embraced life with a joyful spirit, enjoying hobbies and activities that brought him happiness. He loved shopping, exploring flea markets, riding four-wheelers, dining out at favorite spots like Golden Corral, and watching Western movies and cheering on a few racecar drivers. Most of all, Marc cherished the time he spent with his family, who meant the world to him. 

Marc is survived by his devoted mother, Helen Harmon; his brother, Kevin Smith; and his beloved niece, Kara Lee Smith. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Wayne Smith; his stepfather, Terry Harmon; his paternal grandparents, Robert James and Juanita Smith; his maternal grandmother, Eva Rorer; and uncles Richard Deon Rorer and Johnny Paul Rorer. 

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Blue Funeral Home under the direction of Binkley-Ross. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Friends are invited to gather at the cemetery shortly before the service. 

Marc’s kind heart, love of adventure, and unwavering connection to his family will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
