Milton Jeffrey Jeff Boaz, 63, of Creal Springs passed away at 2:15 PM on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Marion with his wife by his side.
Funeral services for Jeff will be held at Blue Funeral Home in Marion on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Stephen Hogg officiating. Military Rites will be conducted at 11:00 AM at the funeral home by the National Guard. A time of gathering for family and friends is scheduled for Saturday at Blue Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until the service hour. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jeff was born in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday, January 23, 1949 to Milton Talbert Mutt & Mary Imogene (Winchester) Boaz. He married his true love, Vicki Lynn Lowe on Saturday, July 25, 1981 at 1st Baptist Church in Marion; they were a week shy of their 31st anniversary.
Mr. Boaz is survived by his adoring wife, Vicki of Creal Springs; children, Wayne & Kim Boaz of Creal Springs, Vicki & Tiffany Boaz of Johnston City, Dawn & Kenny Clendenin of Energy and Michael & Angela Boaz of Marion; grandchildren, Brandon Boaz, Kyle Boaz, Daniel Flanigan, Makayla Flanigan, Brayden Colbrota, Tyler Clendenin, Kady Clendenin, Johnathon Bonds and Mickayla Boaz; siblings, Barbara & Stephen Hogg of Springfield, Steve & Linda Boaz of Springfield, Jayna Boaz of Marion, Loretta (Borum) Roark of Stonefort, Jerry Borum of Marion and step-sister, Hella & Dean Richeson of Pennsylvania; many nieces and nephews.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Milton Talbert Boaz; mother, Mary Imogene Borum; step-mother, Erna (Balzies) Boaz; step-father, Vernell Borum; sister, Debbie (Boaz) Rice; brother, Rex Boaz and his beloved pooch, Max.
Jeff was a retired electrical engineer, having been employed at Giles Electric from 1974-1985 and Flanders Electric of Illinois from 1985-2011. He served on the IBEW Local 702 while employed at Giles Electric. Mr. Boaz was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He served his country bravely and proudly from Tuesday, January 25, 1966 until Monday, August 2, 1971. He enlisted in the Active Reserve after being Honorably Discharged as and Expert Rifle Handler and Sharpshooter; earning a Good Conduct Medal. He participated in the Reserves from August of 1971 to January of 1972.
