Elaine Jeter MARION-Elaine Jeter, 72, of Marion passed away at 1:20 PM, Thursday, September 22, 2005 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, September 25, 2005 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Don Colson officiating. Visitation will be after 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Saturday, September 24, 2005 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Mrs. Jeter was born on July 9, 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri to Emery Bernard and Goldie Ethel (Provence) McCalla. She married Orial Cletus Jeter; he preceded her in death on December 7, 1976. Survivors include her children, Tommie and Michelle Jeter of Coulterville, Jack Cletus and Donna Jeter of Carterville, Marilyn Christine and Joe McRoy of Marion, Robin and Daniel Girtman of Marion, Burton Dale Jeter of Marion, Bruce Martin and Roberta Jeter of Marion, Bonnie and Ralph Wade of Marion, and Faye and Phillip Hamilton of Nashville, Tennessee; fifteen grandchildren, Shawn, Rebecca, Misty, Stephennie, Angela, Joshua, Sara, Lisa, Jessica, Alex, David, Tommy, Troy, Julie and Mitchell; twenty great grandchildren and one on the way; brothers and sister-in-law, Donald McCalla of Cambria, Jim and Ann McCalla of Paulton, and Bernard Dale McCalla of Carbondale; sister and brother-in-law, Bernardine and Floyd Doetch of Carbondale; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; four brothers; two sisters; and friend, Tom Biggs. Mrs. Jeter was a retired waitress. She attended Community Chapel Church in Marion. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and a volunteer at VA Hospital and Fountain Nursing Home. She loved to spend time with family and friends.
