M. Arvada Patterson

MARION- On Wednesday, May 12, 2004 our mother, Arvada Patterson passed away after a long struggle with lung cancer. She was born on November 1, 1922 in Marion, Illinois to W.R. and Nettie (Blair) Hodge. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James W. `Pat` Patterson; two sisters, Geraldine Keller and Lorine Schillinger. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Eva Patterson of Santa Ana, California; daughter, Diane Sheldon of Sarasota, Florida; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Jack Atwood; and nieces and nephews. During our mother`s lifetime she was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church and the Aldersgate Methodist Church. Patterson Auto Electric and Patterson Park kept both our parents very busy in the community, but somehow she found time to sew, create pressed floral pictures for others and community volunteering for many years. Please join our family in a memorial service to be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 22, 2004 at Aldersgate Methodist Church in Marion with Reverend James Slone officiating. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is in charge of the arrangements.
