Luther “Dutch” Anderson PITTSBURG- 8220;Luther “Dutch” Anderson, 71, of Pittsburg passed away at 10:31 PM, Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Bill McDonald officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Memorials may be made Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Anderson was born on June 16, 1936 in Williamson County, Illinois to Coy and Cecil (Davis) Anderson. He married Sylvia Stephens on June 21, 1957 in Herrin; together they shared 50 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia of Pittsburg; son, Ronald Lee Robinson of Carterville; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Michael Stoner of Goreville, Carla and Kevin Bailey and Leslie and Roger Odom all of Pittsburg; grandchildren, Michael and Niki Cloud, Rachel Fogle, and Bryan and Justin Bailey; great grandchildren, Faith Nichole Stroud and Lucas and Dawson Cloud; brothers and sisters-in-law, Logan and Anita Anderson and Bill and Paula Anderson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Catherine Courtright, Shirley and Paul Pritchett, Jr., Jean and Terry Fritts and Mary and Jim Russell; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl E. Stephens and Raymond and Sharon Stephens; sister-in-law, Louise Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents and son-in-law, Marc Fogle. Mr. Anderson attended Pittsburg Freewill Baptist Church. He retired from the State of Illinois Department of Transportation. He served as a County Committeeman for the Williamson County Soil Conservation and was a member of the American Angus Association. He enjoyed raising Black Angus Cattle, farming and restoring old International Tractors. He loved his family and his family loved him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
