Creal Springs-Lura Marks, 89, passed away at 3:00am on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at her home. Lura was born on November 12, 1925 in Williamson County to Gilbert and Lura (Sutton) Malcom. She married Bill Marks on October 4, 1952 in Benton. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1996. Lura was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Her hobbies included fishing and spending time with her family and she loved singing hymns. Survivors include: Son-Donald Marks of Pittsburg Daughter-Judy and Terry Pearce of Creal Springs Daughter-Vivian & Glenn Felts of Creal Springs Son-in-law-Robert Lindsey of Creal Springs 20 grandchildren 32 great grandchildren 34 great-great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Richard Marks; daughters, Sadie Marks and Patsy Lindsey; brothers and sisters, Irene Sutton, Gertrude Burk, Bob Malcom, Kenneth Malcom, John Malcom, Lillian Phillips Craig, Sadie Swan, Myrtle Travelstead, Betty Marks, Ruth Lawson, Imogene Parks and great grandson, Dustin Marks. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2014 at 11am at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Alan Summers officiating. Burial will follow at White Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 1, 2014 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ 1704 N. Court St/ Marion, IL 62959.
