Ludene Morgan-Hindman

Marion Lora Ludene Morgan-Hindman, 85, of Marion passed away at 4:56 PM on Monday, March 12, 2012 in Herrin Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Carl “Dink” Phelps officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery. A time of visitation to express sympathy to the family will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Ludene was born on Thursday, October 21, 1926 in Marion to William & Luthary (Hill) Blackburn. She married Edward Morgan who preceded her on Thursday, April 19, 1979. She later married William “Pete” Hindman in 1988; he preceded her on Sunday, August 29, 2010. Ludene is survived by her children, Donna Felts of Johnston City, Bill & Mary Morgan of Marion and Mike & Diana Morgan of Marion; step-daughter, Shirley & Mike Barlow of Goreville; sister, Mildred Chamness-Holmes; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William & Luthary; husband, Edward; husband, William; daughter, Barbara “Bobby” Abney; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Ludene was a switchboard operator at Herrin Hospital for several years. She also had been formerly employed at Sangamo Electric and Olin Matheson. Ludene was a member of the Lone Oak Baptist Church.
