Ludene Johnson
MARION-Ludene Johnson of Marion passed away at 5:00 AM, Friday, April 27, 2007 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Tommy Monroe officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Goreville.
Mrs. Johnson was born on February 17, 1920 in Union County to John and Minnie Pearl (Billingsley) Stokes. She married Woodrow Johnson on December 16, 1939. He preceded her in death in 1982.
Survivors include her son Donald Ray and wife Melody Johnson of Stonefort, son Gus Laverne Johnson of Marion; daughters-in-law Christine Johnson of Stonefort, and Carolyn Johnson of Marion; sixteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and brother Kenneth Stokes of Grand Chain.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Woodrow; daughter Dena Lou Johnson; son Ronald Gene Johnson; son Bobby Dean Johnson; two sisters; and two brothers.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Indian Camp Baptist Church. She loved to garden, she also loved the St. Louis Cardinals and attended her first game at age 78. She was a homemaker and formerly worked at a Veterans Administration Hospital in North Chicago.
She loved her family and will be missed by all.
