Lucille Gilbert MARION-Lucille Gilbert, 87, of Marion passed away at 6:58 AM, Sunday, September 11, 2005 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Gene Tucker officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Carterville. Mrs. Gilbert was born on January 12, 1918 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Robert Spencer and Ida (Upchurch) McClung. She married Ralph Gilbert on May 13, 1940; he preceded her in death on February 20, 1998. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Betty Gilbert of Carterville, and Garry and Barbara Gilbert of Marion; granddaughter and husband, Valarie and Eddie Long; step-granddaughter, Amber Burks; and a great grandchild on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; and three sisters. Mrs. Gilbert attended the Herrin Church of Christ with her friends when she was able.
