Lowell R. Hale HARRISBURG-Lowell R. Hale, 59, of Harrisburg formerly of Marion passed away at 8:50 AM, Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Arthur Joplin officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. Military rites will be held at the cemetery by Harrisburg American Legion, Carrier Mills American Legion and the United States Marine Corp Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Metro Ministries; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Hale was born October 30, 1948 in Eldorado to Lowell E. and Wilma (Snedecor) Hale. He married Rhonda Fox on March 16, 2002. Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Hale of Harrisburg; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Jason Pappas of Creal Springs; step-daughters and husbands, Brandy Fox of Booneville, Indiana, Kerry and Keith Pham of Pensacola, Florida and Holly and Greg Presley of Johnston City; grandchildren, Jordan Pappas, Morgan Pappas, Riley Anderegg, Alyssa Pham, Alexus Pham, Ashton Pham, Halona Presley, Hallie Presley and Hayden Presley; sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Tom Cain of Pittsburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Gale Hale of Marion, Joe and Debbie Hale of Crab Orchard and Mark and Susan Hale of Pittsburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jason Hale; grandmother, Lena Snedecor; and nephew, John Hale. Mr. Hale was a member of the Broeking Road Church of God. He had been employed by the Illinois Youth Center in Harrisburg for 18 years. He was an AFCME member. He served his country with the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
