Louis Vernell Tanner- Marion- Louis Vernell Tanner, 80, passed away April 13th, 2012 at Angel Acres in Marion, IL. Funeral Services for Mr. Tanner will be held at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion at 2pm Sunday, April 15, 2012. There will be a time of visitation at the funeral home from 12PM until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Coal Bank Springs Cemetery. Rev. David Nelson will officiate. Memorials may be made to Angel Acres and will be received at the funeral home or may be mailed C/O Blue Funeral Home PO Box 411 Marion IL 62959. Mr. Tanner was born March 3rd, 1932 in Dykersburg to Freeman H. and Reba (Casey) Tanner. He grew up on the family farm near Mayhew School, where he attended, and enjoyed the farm life. He lived a quiet life, and became a Christian at an early age. He loved the Lord and lived a life of happiness. He lived his last ten years at Angel Acres in Marion. He always enjoyed visiting and being with his family and friends and the witness of God’s love in his life. He will be missed by his family and his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred Wallinger, Lucille Hilliard, Ernest Tanner, Shirley Scott and several infant siblings. He is survived by sister in law Billey Tanner and Bonita Unger and several nieces and nephews.
