Paducah-Loren D. Carter, 87, formerly of Marion, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the Superior Care Home in Paducah surrounded by his family.
Loren was born in White County on April 25, 1930 to Harold and Ruby (Wright) Carter. He married Eliza Pyle and they shared 50 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on May 22, 1998. Loren then married Betty Jo Gilchrist. She preceded him in death in December 2016.
Loren was of Baptist faith. He retired from GTE after 43 years in Executive Management. Loren was a loving father and grandfather and will be missed by all.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 10am at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Scott Johnson officiating. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 1pm at Kingdom Cemetery in Carmi. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home.
