Liston L. Jent

Liston L. Jent, age 86, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at his home in Marion, Illinois.

Liston was born April 23, 1935 in rural Johnston City, Illinois, a son of Leborn and Audrey (Russell) Jent. He married Bonnie J. Bramlet on June 29, 1957 in Crab Orchard, IL.

At age 16 Liston moved to northern IL and worked as a auto mechanic in Plano, IL. After his marriage, he and his wife owned a Gift Shop and Flooring Store. Liston installed flooring for many years. After his retirement they moved to the St. Louis area to be near their grandchildren. They recently moved to Marion.

Liston was a member of United Methodist Church in Maplewood, MO. He enjoyed attending the Missouri Fiddlers get-togethers. He loved all kinds of music and enjoyed roller skating.

He is survived by his spouse Bonnie J. (Bramlet) Jent of Marion, IL; one son, Rev. Larry (Barbara) Jent of Fredericksburg, VA; four siblings, Vivian Staton of Plano, IL, Phyllis Rudolph of Marseilles, IL, Gladys (James) Davies of Henkley, IL, and Curt Jent of Plano, IL; and his Daughter In Law, Deanna Jent of Webster Groves, MO, Six Grandchildren, and Several Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one son, Stephen A. Jent; his parents, Leborn and Audrey Jent; and two siblings, Shirley Hampton and Arnold Jent.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 29th, 2021 from 10:00 AM at Blue Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021, 11:00 AM at Blue Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Creek Cemetery in Johnston City.
