Lindell R. Parks
MARION- Lindell R. Parks, 74, of Marion, passed away at 11:40 AM, Friday, March 5, 2004 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 8, 2004 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Danny Gray officiating. Visitation will be held after 5:00 PM, Sunday, March 7, 2004 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Marion.
Mr. Parks was born on May 10, 1929 in Williamson County, Illinois to Howard and Carrie (Beasley) Parks. He married Marcheeta Parks on July 1, 1985 in Indiana, and she survives.
Other survivors include son, Kenny Parks of Hammond, Indiana; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Kimberly Parks of Portage, Indiana; son, Bryan Parks of Venice, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Joi and Ralph Rodriguez of Crown Point, Indiana; son, Daryl Parks, PhD and his wife, Wendy of Woodbury, Minnesota; step-sons, Joey Dale and Beth Clark of West Frankfort, and Jerrod Clark of Johnston City; grandchildren, Aleisha, Jeremiah and Jacob Rodriguez, Ashley and Joshua Parks, Ryan, Randy and Brandon Parks, Emma Joi and Elijah Parks, Kyle and Brent Disterheft, Alissa and Ethan and Jimmy Jackson; sister and brother-in-law, Emma Jean and Bill McDonald of Marion; brother and sister-in-law, Carol and Pauline Parks of Gary, Indiana; and his miniature Schnauzers, Gracie and Mollie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Wilma Lay.
Mr. Parks was a member of Spillertown Baptist Church. He worked for LeHigh Cement Company retiring after 30 years. He served in the United States Army as a part of the Military Police. He loved to sing, cook and serve others.
He was devoted to his family.
