Linda Gail (Skelton) Thompson

1956 - 2025 

Linda Gail Thompson, age 68, passed away peacefully at her home in Marion, Illinois, on January 13, 2025. She was born November 3, 1956, in Bangor, Maine to William and Bercha Nell (Moore) Skelton. She attended Marion High School and was a graduate of Southern Illinois University, earning a master’s degree in social work.

She is survived by her loving wife, Cari Elswick; her daughter, Amy Doss of Marion, Illinois; and her son, Chuck Foster of Las Cruces, New Mexico. She also leaves behind her brothers, Rick (Sandy) Skelton of Carbondale, Illinois and Mike (Denise) Skelton of St. Louis, Missouri; her cherished grandchildren Jonathan (Zach) Wagner, Elijah Doss, River (Danielle) Doss, Camden Doss, Chase Foster, and Hannah Foster; her nephews “lovebugs” Michael (Morgan “Mo”) Skelton and Andrew (Leah) Skelton; and her precious great-niece, Anna Skelton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Janet Skelton.

Linda will be cremated at Binkley-Ross Funeral Home. Her family is organizing a public memorial to be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 18 at Zion United Church of Christ and asks anyone with fond memories, stories or keepsakes to feel free to attend. Friends and family are invited to begin gathering at the church around 12:00 pm to visit with Linda's family.

Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort and peace to those she leaves behind.
