Linda Simmons

Linda Simmons, age 78, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023 at her home in Marion, Illinois.

Linda was born December 28, 1944 in West Frankfort, Illinois, a daughter of Virgil and Thelma (Smith) Minton. She married the love of her life, John David Simmons on August 15, 1965 in Spillertown.

She is survived by her husband John David Simmons; one son, Darrin Scott (Lori) Simmons; one daughter, Shea Lynette (Rodney) Patton; two sisters, Wanda Mandrell and Joyce Piper; sister-in-law, Nancy Minton; two granddaughters, Cierra and Peyton Simmons, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by two granddaughters, Addison Grace Simmons and Kaleigh Jane Patton; her parents, Virgil and Thelma (Smith) Minton; and two brothers, Virgil (Junior) Minton Jr. and William (Bill) Minton.

Graveside services will be held Friday, November 3, 2023, 1:30 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery with Dr. Bob Dickerson officiating. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements.
