Lillian Bernice McBride, born on January 21, 1951, in Columbus Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home near Carbondale, Illinois on February 7, 2025, at the age of 74. Lili was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, caring friend, and a cherished member of her community. She was a faithful Christian whose love for God guided her throughout her life. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life-fishing, camping, and most of all, spending time with her family. Family was the most important thing in her life, and she dedicated herself to loving and supporting those she held dear. Whether gathered around a campfire or casting a line into the water, she embraced every moment with warmth and laughter.
She dedicated her life to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and worked as a caregiver, bringing comfort and compassion to those she served. Lili was deeply cherished by all who had the privilege of being in her care, forming lasting connections through her kindness and dedication.
She is survived by her beloved children, Brandi Myers (Michael), Brittani Kneezle (Chris), and Shaun McBride; her grandchildren, Erika Atkinson, Gabe Atkinson, Blake Kneezle, Carson Kneezle, Brayden McBride, and Madilyn McBride; and her great-granddaughter, Rory Brooke Parrish. Her love and guidance will forever remain in their hearts, as she leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and devotion to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David McBride; her parents, Orville and Bernice Hicks; her biological father, Clifford Gibbs, and biological mother, Geraldine Smith; and her siblings, Sandy Durfee, Lois Parker, Viriginia Thompson, Marcine Parker, Larry Parker, and Eugene Parker.
