Lillian Eileen Grimes, 86, of Marion, passed away peacefully at 12:45 AM, Sunday, May 26, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 30, 1927 in Cambria, the daughter of Albert and Grace (Kelley) Palmer.  She was united in marriage to Lester Don Grimes on September 28, 1957 in Energy.  He preceded her in death on December 4, 2001. Mrs. Grimes was a retired dietary supervisor at the Creal Springs Nursing Home and worked as a cook at Parkway Manor in Marion for 6 years.  She was a Christian, a member of TOPS IL 1422 in Marion and enjoyed making specialty cakes for people throughout the area for the last 42 years. She was a loving and very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include- Son- William “Bill” Brown and companion, Penny Rice of Valier Three daughters including- Nancy G. Sims of Herrin Donna F. Boles and husband John of Marion Linda L. Tucker and husband Dennis of Clarkston, MO “Adopted” daughter- Terry L. Milani of Herrin Ten grandchildren: Shannon Hohlbauch of Fairfield Mathew Brown of Joliet Monica Morgan and husband Donnie of Herrin Paula Tolbert and husband Joe of Herrin Preston Sims of Herrin Eddie Sims and wife Jessica of Herrin Pam Boles of Marion Heather Lange and husband Mike of Marion Brian Boles of Herrin Sheri Taylor of Rockford Twenty Five Great Grandchildren Two Sisters- Dimple J. Henderson of Marion Etta Ann Robinson and husband Homer of Marion Sister in law- Rosa Mae Palmer of Louisville, KY She was preceded in death by her parents, and step mother- Lola Mae Palmer, husband, granddaughter- Trudy Danielle Brown, four brothers- George A. Palmer, Ray D. Palmer, Delmus D. Palmer and Bon E. Crawford, and one sister- Lura Mae Franklin. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.  Rev. Ralph Brandon will officiate with assistance from Rev. Roy Pepmiller.  Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion.  Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Friday, May 31, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ 1704 N. Court/ Marion, IL  62959.
