Lendell L. Adams MARION-Lendell L. Adams, 67, of Marion passed away at 8:11 AM, Sunday, September 9, 2007 at Herrin Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Don Colson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Marion. Military rites will be held at the cemetery by VFW Post 1301, American Legion Post 147 and the National Guard. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Adams was born December 25, 1939 in Bonnie, Illinois to Evan Richard and Reba Mae (Reece) Adams. He married Patricia George on April 11, 1970 in East St. Louis; together they shared 37 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Patricia of Marion; daughter and her fiancé, Rebecca Adams and Mike Stone of Marion; granddaughter, Shelby Moore; step-granddaughter, Raven Stone; brothers and sister-in-law, Nolen and Voris Adams of Belle Rive and Howard Adams of Bonnie; sisters and brothers-in-law, LaVerne and Murrel Bernard of Belle Rive, Lois Page of Glen Carbon and Ruth and Bob Young of Mitchell; sisters-in-law, Nellie Adams of Imperial, Missouri and Shirley Adams of Mt. Vernon; brother-in-law, Terry George; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Karen and Dan Schultz and Debbie and Gary Willett; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Melvin Adams and Eddie Adams. Mr. Adams was of the Freewill Baptist faith. He was formerly the manager of Robert Hall Clothing Store, Borgsmiller Jewelry and Wholesale and Lowell’s Jewelry Store. He most recently worked for Rose Hill Greenhouse with Home Depot Lawn and Garden. He always stayed active doing jobs and he loved to work in his yard. He served his country with the United States Navy. He was affectionately known as “Doodles” by his granddaughters and he will be greatly missed by all.
