Lena Mae Phillips Carlinville—Lena Mae Phillips, 86, of Carlinville, formerly of Marion, passed away at 6:20 PM on Monday, January 30, 2012 in Heritage Manor. Funeral services were privately held as a family gathering at Lena’s final resting place with Reverend Kevin McNeely officiating. Blue Funeral Home in Marion assisted with arrangements. The family expresses that since the services were private, and no notice was announced, that friends wishing to honor Lena Mae’s memory may make donations in her name to Passages Hospice. Lena Mae was born on Saturday, May 31, 1924 in Marion to Earl & Edith (Russell) Hendrickson. She married E. Lee Phillips on Sunday, February 9, 1947; he passed on Sunday, December 14, 2003 after nearly 57 years together. Mrs. Phillips is survived by her children, Ron & Becky Phillips and Linda Sue Morgan all of Marion and Carol & Monte Jones of Benld; brother, James & Mary Russell; grandchildren, Jim Phillips, Chad Phillips & fiancé’ Shannon, Samantha & Devon Christopher, Mallory Jones and Donald Forcum & several nieces & nephews. Lena Mae was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Fosse (KIA WWII) and the love of her life, second husband, Lee Phillips. Lena Mae was a member of Heartland Christian Church and the Red Hat Society at Fifth Season Residential.
