MARION-Leland Soldner, 81, passed away at 4:45PM, Saturday, May 15, 2004 in St. Josephs Hospital in Highland, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 20, 2004 at the Zion United Church of Christ in Marion with Reverend Kenneth Kramer and Reverend James Langdoc officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Energy. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion and from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 20, 2004 at the church. Memorials may be made to the Multi-Purpose Building at Zion United Church of Christ; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Soldner was born on November 12, 1922 in Marion, Illinois to E. W. and Mamie (Kruckleberg) Soldner. He married Wanda Horsley on April 3, 1948 in Marion, she preceded him in death on August 8, 2000. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Lelynna and Reverend James Langdoc of Highland and Miledda and Randy Edmonds of Marion; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Rhonda Soldner; grandchildren, Kevin and Rachel Soldner, Heather Langdoc, Jason and Meagan Langdoc, Adam Edmonds, Caitlin Edmonds, Brady Edmonds and Carson Edmonds; great grandchildren, Shania Soldner, Brendan Soldner and Aine Campion. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Mr. Soldner was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ. He retired from Dairy Farming and Marion Unit 2 School System. He was a lifetime member of the Farm Bureau and was a 4H leader. He was an avid sports fan and loved the St. Louis Cardinals and the Marion Wildcats. Most of all he loved his family.
