Lawrence was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marion where he participated with the Joy Singers Adult Choir. He worked as a meat inspector for the State of Illinois, retiring in December of 1997. He enjoyed bailing hay, cutting wood, gardening, but most of all he enjoyed doing things with and for his family.
He was a Christian and made sure his children and grandchildren were Christians, the most important thing in his life was to have a Christian family. When you think of our Dad, think of this saying; `As For Me And My House, We Will Serve The Lord`.
