Lawrence D. Holmes CREAL SPRINGS-Lawrence D. Holmes, 70, of Creal Springs passed away at 5:08 AM, Monday, July 20, 2009 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Springhill Cemetery in Creal Springs with Reverend Edward “Shorty” Alsip officiating. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is in charge of the arrangements. Lawrence was born June 19, 1939 in Williamson County to Douglas and Delia (Tanner) Holmes. He married Linda Baker on November 8, 1957; together they shared almost 52 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Linda Holmes of Creal Springs; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Dennis Boulds and Teresa and Jamie LaBotte all of Creal Springs; grandchildren, Lori and Brett Ridgway, Kristie and Randy Anson and Austin Boulds; great grandchildren, Taylor Ridgway, Tristen Reid and Briana, Taylor, Nicholas and Zachary Anson; sisters, Emma Laningham, Robbie Odum and Pauline Kelley; and brother, Gilbert Holmes. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ray and Ralph Holmes; and sister, Lola Beasley. Lawrence was a member of Ferrell Baptist Church. He retired from South Eastern where he worked as a lineman. He drove Stockcars, enjoyed fishing, working and spending time with his family. He will be missed by greatly by his family.
