LaWanda Lee Saunders GOREVILLE-LaWanda Lee Saunders, 69, of Goreville, passed away at 11:23 AM, Thursday, March 11, 2004 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 13, 2004 at the First Baptist Church in Goreville with Dr. Ron Ferguson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, March 12, 2004 at the First Baptist Church in Goreville. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery in Goreville. Blue Funeral Home in Goreville is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Saunders was born on November 12, 1935 in Cobden, Illinois to Ogie and Mirel (Chitty) Saunders. She married Don Saunders November 22, 1979 in Goreville, and he survives. Other survivors include sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Roger Russell of Buncombe; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth and Tim Coffey of Goreville, LaWanda and Ron Snyder of Jackson, Missouri, Charles and Laurie Howard of Goreville, Chester and Dorthy Howard of Chaffee, Missouri, Luther Howard of Hillsboro, and Rex and Mildred Howard of Scott City, Missouri; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ida Josephine and Betty Lou; brother-in-law, Jr. Howard; and uncle, Luther Chitty. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Goreville for 21 years. She enjoyed working with children at the church. She will be sadly missed
