Lanta P. Carter

Lanta P. Carter, age 90, of West Frankfort, Illinois, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Herrin Hospital.

Lanta was born October 06, 1931 in Johnston City, Illinois, a daughter of Oscar and Nancy (Taylor) Strunk. She married the love of her life, Willie D. Carter on October 10, 1947 in Johnston City. He preceded her in death on September 20, 2004. Prior to her retirement, Lanta had been employed at Olin Corporation for more than 28 years as a laborer.

Grandchildren- Amy and Steve Uhlry
Amanda and Lee Eddington

Matthew Carter
Great Grandchildren- Alexa, Camden, Benjamin, Madalynn, Audrey, Stevey, Macaibe, and Levi
Several Great Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son- Willie.

The family requests an informal walk-thru visitation be held on Monday, March 14th, 2022 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 14, 2022, 2:00 PM at Blue Funeral Home with Rev. Micheal Tetmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion.
