L. D. McDonald PITTSBURG-L.D. McDonald, 85, of Pittsburg passed away at 8:05 PM, Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend John Howat officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, September 5, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant “Poordo” Cemetery. Mr. McDonald was born August 11, 1923 in Lebanon, Kentucky to Octolony and Oma (King) McDonald. He married Elsie V. Blanton on June 21, 1943 in Casey County, Kentucky; she preceded him in death on April 20, 2005. Survivors include his children, Leon Dale and Sharon Kay McDonald, Sherry Diane Fiveash, Michael James McDonald, Kenneth Eugene and Nancy Sue McDonald and Daniel E. McDonald all of Pittsburg; grandchildren, Kevin and Lisa Fiveash, Mark and Gloria Fiveash, Tammy and Jeff Whitehead, Tim McDonald, Greg and Becky McDonald, Joey McDonald, Teresa McDonald, Kenneth Jr. and Genny McDonald, Jennifer Diane and Shane Skelton; Dana and Ronnie Webb, Scarlet McDonald and Maxwell McDonald; several great grandchildren; brother, Harold Keith and Sondra McDonald of Lebanon, Kentucky; and sister, Marylois and Jimmy Grundy of Lebanon, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; infant daughter, Shirley May McDonald; brother, Porter McDonald; and sister, Lavana Rakes. Mr. McDonald was a member of Mt. Pleasant “Poordo” Church. He was a retiered welder and machinist. He enjoyed photography as a hobby.
