Kent W. Crear MARION-Kent W. Crear, 67, of Marion passed away at 8:52 AM, Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Ron Ferguson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, December 15, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion IL 62959. Mr. Crear was born on April 9, 1941 in Quincy, Illinois to Eugene and Francis (Earls) Crear. He married Rose Mary Corse on June 23, 1963 in Bowen, Illinois; together they shared 45 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Rose Mary Crear of Marion; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Jodie Crear of Princeville; daughter, LaShele Klinefelter of West Frankfort; daughter and son-in-law, Sara and John Hasser of Chesterfield, Missouri; grandchildren, Bethany Rentfro, Finley Crear and Griffin Crear; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Barbara Crear of Sycamore and Alan and Linda Crear of Clarksville, Tennessee; and sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Chris Bennett of Marion. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Crear was a member of the Goreville First Baptist Church. He was a teacher and held his first teaching and coaching job in Nauvoo-Colusa, he later taught and coached in Polo. For the past 12 years he taught Alternative Education at Shawnee Community College, retiring in July of 2008. He loved sports and was one of the biggest fans in the St. Louis Cardinal nation.
