Kenneth Wayne “Chalk” Thomas Marion-Kenneth Wayne “Chalk” Thomas, 65, of Marion went to be with the Lord at 10:30 AM, Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Herrin Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Sunday, January 21, 2007 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend John Burnett officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, Saturday, January 20, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Military rites will be held at the cemetery by Marion VFW Post 1301 and American Legion Post 147. Mr. Thomas was born on November 9, 1941 in Harrisburg, Illinois to Kenneth Calvin and Faye (Hester) Thomas and later made his home in Marion. He married Terry Head on January 15, 1999 and she survives. Other survivors include three sons, Kevin Wayne Reeder and Clayton and Shannon Morse; daughter, Jennifer Reeder; his mother, Faye Thomas; sister and brother-in-law, Lana and Bobby Emery; and many loved grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Jackie Dale Thomas; and nephew, Bobby Brown. Mr. Thomas was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Marion. He loved to fish and spend time with his family. He was a joy to everyone who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
