MARION- 8220;Kenneth Ray Glasco, 76, of Marion passed away at 6:02 PM, Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Scott Kallum and Reverend David Hancock officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, March 7, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Jonesboro Cemetery. Mr. Glasco was born on January 20, 1932 in Jonesboro, Illinois to Ernest and Ada (Godwin) Glasco. He married Opal Treece on August 28, 1952 in Piggott, Arkansas; together they shared 55 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife Opal of Marion; daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Darrel Duncan of Marion, Marla and Ron Smart of Pittsburg; Kyna Glasco-Travelstead and Donnie Travelstead of Marion; son and daughter-in-law, Bryce and Jaimie Glasco of Johnston City; grandchildren, Amber and Bobby Thompson, Khani Duncan and fiancé, Brian Bevis, Jinna Glasco and fiancé, Roger Welch and Lex Glasco; great grandchildren, Michael Thompson and Josie Welch; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Sue Glasco of Marion, Garry and Ginger Glasco of Wolf Lake and Keith and Barbara Glasco of Cobden; sister and brother-in-law, Ernestine and Don Gamble of Rock Springs, Wyoming; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Clay Glasco.
Mr. Glasco was a member and deacon of Third Baptist Church in Marion. He owned and operated Glasco Construction with his son, Bryce. He served his country with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He was an avid sports fan, loved to fish, coon hunt and rabbit hunt with his dogs.
Kennyâs greatest loves were his faith and his family. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
