Kenneth Milton Hoercher

MARION – Kenneth Milton Hoercher, 71, of Marion, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at 1:55 AM at the VA Medical Center. It was Mr. Hoercher’s wishes to be cremated. A visitation to be with friends and family will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011 from 10-11 AM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Forgotten Children’s Ministry of Honduras; envelopes are available during the services or may be sent C/O Blue Funeral Home, P.O. Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959. Kenneth was born on August 8, 1939 in Mascoutah, IL to Harvey & Hazel (Whittenberg) Hoercher. He married Jean Hartwell on March 14, 1964; they had recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean; children, Navy Chief Darren & Lorraine Hoercher of Virginia Beach, VA, LeAnne & Michael Slover and Jeff & Tonya Hoercher all of Johnston City; grandchildren, Robert Hudson, Kyle Hudson, James Hudson, Emily Hoercher and Tabitha Hoercher; step-grandchild, Alyssa Rowe. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents. He was previously employed as a draftsman at Olin Matheson, was an insurance agent for Country Companies and a coal miner with Kerr-McGee. Kenneth was presently employed as a crew leader for the “Cleaning Team” at Rent One Park. He was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church in Herrin. He was a US Air Force Veteran and a 1957 graduate of Centralia High School.
