Kelley L. Summers ALTON-Kelley L. Summers, 64, died at 1:52 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at his home in Alton. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Victor Long officiating. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Marion. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Kelley was born June 6, 1945 in Carbondale IL, he was the son of Lavelle Summers of Marion, IL and the late Laverne Summers. Besides his mother, surviving is a daughter, Laura Summers McPike and her husband Jack of Edwardsville, a son, Thaddeus Summers of Memphis, TN, and three grandchildren, Jacob Summers, and Brooke and Alexa McPike. He was preceded in death by his father. Kelley served a combat tour with the U.S. Army during the Tet Offensive in the Vietnam War. He was an engineer with Owens Illinois Glass in Godfrey.
