Buncombe- Karen A. Werner, 75, of Buncombe, passed away at 8:02 PM, Thursday, July 7, 2016 as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
She was born March 18, 1941, in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of Joseph W. and Ann (Krupke) Davis. She married T. Tim Werner on September 1, 1965 and he survives. They were blessed with a daughter, Krista and a son, Eric who both reside with their families in Southern Illinois.
She was educated as a teacher and taught French for a number of years before working in the housing office at Sangamon State University in Springfield, IL where they lived for more than 30 years. She enjoyed reading, travel and corresponding with the many friends she had made through the years and more recently at Parkway Estates in Marion.
Karen was catholic and was a member of the Southern Illinois Sierra Club and the Audubon of Illinois. She enjoyed fishing in her ponds and travelling the world via boat and plane. She liked spending time outdoors, kayaking, canoeing and spending time in her flower garden. In her free time she enjoyed reading fiction novels.

She was preceded in death by her parents
A celebration of her life luncheon will be held at 11:30 AM, on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Parkway Estates/ 3116 Williamson County Parkway/ in Marion. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
