Karan Martin

Marion-Karan Kay Martin, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 10, 2018 at her home in Marion. Karan was born on September 15, 1942 in Marion to George (Rudy) Walter and Ruth Virginia (Cooksey) Bond. She met Andy Martin while working at Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis and they were married December 4, 1965 at Third Baptist Church in Marion. Karan was a graduate of Deaconess Hospital of Radiology. After spending many years as a stay at home mom, she worked twenty plus years as a radiologist and mammographer at Cherry Street Clinic until her retirement.  She enjoyed quilting and sewing, baking and cooking and loved the Green Bay Packers football. Karan is survived by her sons, Jeffrey James Martin (Jenna Nance) of Marion, Patrick Walter Martin of Pryor, OK and Ryan Martin (Summer) of Marion; three grandchildren, Skyler Martin, Faith Stacey and Gaige Rice of Marion. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Andy. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 11am and Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. John Johnson officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
