June Mappin MARION - 8220; June Mappin, 80, of Marion passed away at 7:45 AM, Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Dan Shasteen officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, December 28, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Eastlawn Cemetery in Herrin. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Mappin was born on November 3, 1927 in Marion to Homer and Hazel (Browning) Brush. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Sally and Steve Ward of Creal Springs; son and daughter-in-law Bill and Cindy Mappin of Marion; grandchildren Scott & Iwona Ward, Joshua Ward, and Rusty Mappin; great-grandchildren Kasha and Natalia Ward; brother and sister-in-law John and Carol Brush of Sarasota Florida; nieces Amy, Angela, Jennifer, and Wilma; nephew David; aunt Mildred Stilley; and lots of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Jim Brush; and sister Virginia Wilson. Mrs. Mappin was a member of the Fellowship in Christ Church in Carterville. She was a G.T.E. telephone operator for thirty years. She liked to paint, and do crossword puzzles. She loved her animals and to watch movies. She will be missed by all who knew her.
