Julia B Cox Marion- Julia B Cox, 81, passed away on New Years Eve, December 31, 2011 at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion at 2:55 AM. Funeral services for Mrs. Cox will be held at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion on Monday, January 2nd at 12pm. Visitation will be help from 11-12 on the service day at the funeral home. Rev. Larry Shacklee will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern IL and will be accepted at the funeral home, or may be mailed C/O Blue Funeral Home PO Box 411 Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Cox was born April 12th, 1930 in Christopher, IL to Otto and Annie (Bryant) Stroud. She married Leonard Cox on April 15, 1953 in Herrin; together they shared 55 years of marriage. Leonard preceded her on December 27, 2008. Survivors include her children, Cynthia Lynn Cox, Kevin and Gail Cox, Marshia Cox (all of Marion) and Ida Ellen and Kevin Ross of Thompsonville; grandchildren, Kendra and Michael Highley, Philecia Jo and Glen Faith, Amanda Bernette Throgmorton, Sean Ross and Sarah Ross; great grandchildren, Hunter Throgmorton, Ray Faith, Ethan Highley, Riley Faith, Colton Throgmorton and Avery Highley; and sister Helen Rowland of Christopher. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard Cox and son, Charles Wayne Corley. Mrs. Cox was a member of 3rd Baptist Church in Marion and the Senior Circle at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
