Joyce L. Parmley
MARION Joyce Louise Lawrence Parmley, 93, of Marion went home to be with her Lord and her beloved husband Jewel on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at 1:55 PM at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Paul Ramsey officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Marion.
Mrs. Parmley was born on November 17, 1914 in Marion to Thomas and Julia (Essick) Lawrence. She married Jewel Parmley on November 19, 1932 he preceded her in death in March of 1958, together they shared 25 years of marriage.
Survivors include daughter, Janet Rich of Marion; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Dena Parmley of Monticello; grandchildren, Brent Allen Rich, Heather Christine Reach of Herrin, Kristie Lynn and husband Earl Alexander of Fort Worth, Texas, Stephanie Parmley of St. Louis, Missouri, and Derek Parmley of Sandoval; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Nicole Miller, Ian Michael Miller, Ryan Alexander, Seth Alexander, Aaron Alexander, Ashley Parmley, and Cadence Parmley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; infant son, Michael Parmley; brothers, Loren Lawrence, and Cecil Lawrence; infant granddaughter Julie, and niece, Brenda Lane Lawrence.
Mrs. Parmley earned her G.E.D. at the age of 50 and her L.P.N. degree she worked as a L.P.N. at Marion Memorial Hospital for 17 years. She was loyal to her Lord and to the First Church of God, formerly known as Block Chapel Church of God.
The greatest joy of her life was her children and grandchildren.
