Marion-Joyce A. Bell, 68, was lovingly welcomed into her Lord and Savior’s outstretched hands on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 12:30am. She left this world peacefully in her home surrounded by loving family.
Joyce was born on July 25, 1949 to John H. and Rosemary (Hudgens) Sims. She was united in marriage to Charles R. Bell on August 3, 1967 and together they shared fifty years of marriage.
Joyce loved Jesus, southern gospel music and spending time in His presence. She also loved her family and always went above and beyond as a wife and mother. Joyce loved to travel and was always up for a trip, whether it was across town or across the country. She had a contagious smile, laugh and spirit that was adored and will be remembered by many.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Charles R. Bell and daughter, Lana J. Bell of Marion. She is also survived by close family members Eddie and Carol Mitchell. Joyce rescued two feline friends, Mr. Bentley and Sissy that she spoiled rotten and who will miss her greatly too. Joyce’s last months on earth were surrounded by Pastor John, the church family, neighbors and friends. Thank you for all of your visits and sunshine that they brought with them. A special thanks to Cass, Joyce’s home health care nurse, for the care given over the past several months.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Kevin R. Bell.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 1pm at Full Gospel Tabernacle with Rev. John Burnett officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11am until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow at Fountains Cemetery, south of Marion, for close family and friends. Joyce will be laid to rest by her son. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
