Joyce Arlene Paul GOREVILLE-Joyce Arlene Paul, 81, of Goreville passed away at 5:35 PM, Friday, January 26, 2007 at Union County Hospital in Anna. Joyce fought a long and courageous 12 year battle against Alzheimer’s disease. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Lick Creek with Reverend Doug Bridgeman officiating. There will be no visitation. Blue Funeral Home in Goreville is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association; envelopes are available at the church or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Joyce was born February 22, 1925 in Allentown, Pennsylvania to Tommie and Mabel (Bachman) Huyett. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Skip Joseph and Agnes M. Paul of Goreville; daughter, Bonnie Jo Papesh of Asheville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Derek Papesh, Dana Papesh both of Asheville, North Carolina, Dustin Paul of Vandenberg AFB, California and Brandon Paul of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. As a military wife, Joyce traveled extensively and held many diverse jobs including court stenographer, legal secretary, electronics technician, factory worker, waitress, and even worked on a fishing boat in Louisiana. She loved the ocean and frequently went on cruises.
