Johnnie Crites MARION-Johnnie Crites, 63, of Marion passed away at 1:50 AM, Monday, March 16, 2009 at Herrin Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Robert Schierbaum officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery in Goreville. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Crites was born March 21, 1945 in Florence, Alabama to Delmar A. and Mildred (Pean) Jacobs. She married Dennis Crites on October 25, 1967; together they shared 41 years of marriage. Survivors include her husband, Dennis of Marion; daughter, Donna Ward; sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck Ward, Barry and Pamela Ward, Dennis Ray and Jinny Crites, John and Vada Crites and Jimmy Crites; grandchildren, Dennis Crites III, Jake Ward, Steve Ward, Dakota Crites, Austin Crites, Aden Crites, Zack Crites, Cheyenne Jacobs, Ian Brooks, Jesse Brooks, Brandon Shadowens, Summer Ward, Brandon Ward, Beth Ann Ward, Lori Jacobs, Mike Jacobs and Savannah Ward; several great grandchildren; mother, Mildred Keaton; and brothers and sisters, Troy Richardson, Louis Jacobs, Debbie Crites, Linda Jacobs, Carolyn Jacobs, Mike Jacobs, Tim Jacobs and Roy Jacobs. She was preceded in death by her father; Step-son, Eddie Troy Crites; and two infant grandchildren. Mrs. Crites was of the Pentecostal faith. She worked at Norge in Herrin for many years. She enjoyed fishing and camping and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others.
