John Charles Wade passed away on Tuesday September 24, 2024, at Deaconness Hospital in Marion, Illinois, with his family by his side. He was 48 years old.
John was born on June 24, 1976, to Walter Dean (Johnny) and Doris Wade in Marion Illinois. He lived in Marion most of his life but also lived for several years in Missouri where he met his wife, Jennifer. They were married in Marion at his parent’s home on December 29, 2007. John, also known as Chuck to childhood friends and family, enjoyed classic country music, gospel music, action movies, classic TV, and collectibles, especially lighthouses. He shared his love of music and entertainment with his children. He worked in restaurant management, security, and lawn care maintenance. He loved his family more than anything. It was important to him to stay connected to his childhood friends and family and was always quick with a story from our childhood that no one remembered until he’d tell it. Shared memories and stories were special to him, and he could remember better than anyone else. He had a sarcastic sense of humor and was quick to try to bring laughter to any situation.
John is survived by his wife Jennifer and his four children-Jonathon, Cody, and Nicole Wade of Marion and Samantha (Elijah) Pulley of Creal Springs; siblings Kim (Jarrod) Morse of Marion, Paula (Gordon) Reach of Marion, Tim (Nova) Hanks of Bucyrus Kansas, Jeff (Francesca) Hanks of Carlisle , Pennsylvania, Tammy (Greg) Sullivan of Marion, Debbie (Kirby) Whitworth of Lucedale, Mississippi, Rick (Beth) Wade of Marion, Sherry (Larry) Hatton of Opdyke Illinois, and Steve Wade of Creal Springs, as well as grandchildren Parker and Henry Pulley and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother Walter Dean and Doris Wade as well as grandparents.
A celebration of life gathering will take place Friday, September 27, 2024, from 5-7 pm at the Carterville Community Center. It is open to family and friends for a time of sharing of stories and mutual comfort and fellowship as we remember and honor John. A dinner will be available for guests as they visit. Attire is casual. Guests are free to come and go throughout the gathering.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for John’s children Jonathon, Cody, and Nicole for future education and support. Donations or cards can be given directly at the service or sent C/O Kim Morse at the Binkley-Ross Funeral Home 1702 West Boulevard Street, Marion, Illinois 62959.
