John McAnelly

March 5, 1934 — July 23, 2012

Marion- Buddy “John” McAnelly, 78, of Marion passed away July 23rd, 2012 at his home. Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. McAnelly will be held Wednesday, July 25th at 10:30am the family farm on Route 37 South. Reverend Kevin McNeely will officiate. There will be no visitation and the family requests memorial donations be made to Grange Hall Church in lieu of flowers. There will be a dinner served after the service at Grange Hall Church. Mr. McAnelly was born on March 6th, 1934 to Harry and Zella (Rush) McAnelly. John was a graduate of Marion High School. He served in the US Army tank division. He attended Grange Hall Church. John operated the John McAnelly Construction Company for several years and later opened TSJ Pole Buildings which he owned for 40 years. He loved his family farm, raising cattle, and making hay. He enjoyed helping his son with his business, Neat Cut, during his retirement. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Mallon McAnelly. They were married for 54 years and 8 months. He is survived by his son, Jon McAnelly, owner of Neat Cut, daughter Sindy McAnelly Caridi and Dr. Salvatore Caridi of Ormond Beach, Florida. Survivors also include grandchildren Dante, Sandro and Rachel Caridi of Ormond Beach, FL. Sisters: JoAnn and Jack McRoy, Betty and Bob Jones, Pat and Ed King and Kay and Leon Henderson. Sister in Law Elaine McAnelly, numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends. John was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Harry and Pete McAnelly.
