John H. Craig Jr. Marion-John H. Craig Jr, 80, of Marion passed away at 11:45 AM Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend James Moore and Reverend Greg Gibbs officiating. Visitation will be held from noon to 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 15, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery in Goreville. Memorials may be made to Heartland Christian Church or the donor’s choice envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Craig was born August 19, 1926 in Carterville to John H. and Ruth (Rowatt) Craig Sr. He married June Short in Marion on July 28, 1956 She survives of Marion. Survivors include his wife; sister Margaret Trotter of Mt. Vernon; brother David R. and wife Linda Craig of Herrin; two sisters-in-law June Craig of Rockford, Illinois and Virginia Craig of Bluford; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers Carroll Craig and Paul Craig. Mr. Craig was a member of Herrin Christian Church, American Chemical Society for 28 years, American Legion, V.F.W., Masonic Lodge 693, and he was Shrine member. He served in the U. S. Navy at the amphibious training base. He obtained his college degrees from Southern Illinois University and University of Illinois.
