John Franklin

June 6, 1946 — February 17, 2014

Marion-John G. Franklin, 67, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 17, 2014. He was born June 6, 1946 in Benton, IL to Lester and Grace (Hudson) Franklin. He married Ruth Frink on March 13, 1968. She preceded him in death on March 3, 2011. John was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He worked as a barber for much of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his sons, Patrick Franklin of Marion and Christopher Franklin of Stonefort. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and eldest son, Scott Franklin. With respect to his wishes, there will be no services. A memorial service will be planned and announced at a later date. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
