John LeRoy Davis

John LeRoy Davis, 73, of Herrin, died on Wednesday, March 20th, 2024 at 10 am.

He was born July 31, 1950 to John and Ruth Helen (Swisher) Davis in Miner's Hospital in Christopher. He married Diane (Pedigo) Tindall on September 23, 1983 in Mulkeytown and together they have shared over 40 years of marriage.

John was a grain farmer on the Davis family farm near Mulkeytown for 14 years of his adult life, which was followed by 18 years as a Postal Clerk at the Marion Post Office.

Survivors include his loving wife Diane, stepsons Henry Pearson Tindall, Gene Allen Tindall, and Eric Jason Tindall, grandchildren Mira Diane Russell, Sierra Lynn Tindall-Small, Ocean Marie Royalty, and Zachary Pearson Tindall, mother-in-law Bonnie Pedigo, nephew Terry DeLaval, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Rick and Margie Pedigo of Herrin, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Everett and Rhonda Pedigo of Herrin and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Tina and Keith Wortham of Stewardson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jenevie Lucille (Davis) DeLaval, grandson Pearson Lee Tindall, father-in-law Arthur Pedigo, sister-in-law Debbie Pedigo and brother-in-law Edgar DeLaval.

John's wishes were to be cremated with private services to be held at the Mulkeytown Cemetery at a later date. Blue Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
