Joe D. Darling MARION-Joe D. Darling, 65, of Marion passed away at 6:59 PM, Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Art Donley officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Saturday, September 30, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be at 1:30 PM, Monday, October 2, 2006 at Dundee Township Cemetery in Dundee, Illinois. Mr. Darling was born June 12, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio to Sam and Janet (Parsons) Darling. He married Sandy Bacak on May 20, 1988 in Reno, Nevada together they shared 18 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Sandy; daughter, Tayla Darling; daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Ron Spanda; daughter, Amy Thompson; grandchildren, Travis, Blake, Alisha, Sara, Kayla, Aaron and Johnny; his father, Sam; brothers, Bruce and Paul Darling; sister, Ann Nottingham; and mother-in-law, Jean Bacak. He was preceded in death by his mother. Mr. Darling was a retired college professor having previously taught at the University of Kentucky. He also retired from the railroad. His hobbies included trains, coins and football.
