Joan R. Ragain GOREVILLE-Joan R. Ragain, 76, of Goreville, passed away at 4:55 AM, Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Shawnee Rose Care Center in Harrisburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 30, 2010 at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Mr. Gordon Lambert officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery in Goreville. Joan was born December 24, 1933 in Tunnel Hill to Harold J. and Alona (Ray) Eastman. She married Joe E. Ragain on January 9, 1954; he preceded her in death in December of 1991. Survivors include daughter, Kathy Grizzle of Jerseyville; grandchildren, Kelly W. and Kelly Grizzle and Laura Kay and Guillermo Cardona; great grandchild, Keziah Cardona; her mother, Alona Eastman; brothers and sisters-in-law, H. Richard and Betty Eastman, John and Ann Eastman and Barry and Donna Eastman; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; husband; and daughter, Cindy R. Mitchell. Joan was a homemaker and was known as a special caregiver. There are many fond memories of spending time with family on the Eastman Orchards.
