Jo Dawson

Carterville-Jo W. Dawson, 83, went to be with Our Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 21, 2015.
She was a wonderful, wife, mother, sister, grandma (Maw-Maw) and great-grandma (Maw-Maw). Jo will be missed more than words could ever say. Most of all, we will miss all the prayers that were uttered by her precious lips.
Jo was preceded in death by her mom and dad, Lon and Ella Miller; brother, Marne Miller; sisters, June Behn and Carmen Fisher and sisters-in-law, Blanche Miller and Vonda Miller.
Jo was born in Macedonia, IL on August 19, 1931 to Lon and Ella (Moss) Miller. She was married for 65 years to the love of her life Charles (Tom) Dawson.
She left many who loved her dearly: husband, Charles (Tom) Dawson; two children and their spouses, Rick and Janet Dawson and Andra and Kevin Collier. Her grandchildren, Amber Dale, David Dawson, Jonathan Dawson, Joe Dawson, Rich Dawson and Amy Turner with their spouses. Her great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Nataley and Lucas Dawson, Emma Aldrighetti, Heidi Dawson and Claira Turner. Also her brother, Lon Miller and sister, Nadine Campbell.
Heaven is a sweeter place now that Jo Dawson is there.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 10am at Victory Baptist Church in Carterville with Pastor Rick Dawson and Pastor Glen Aulgur officiating. Burial will follow at Denning Cemetery in West Frankfort. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 5pm-8pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.
