Jimmy Neber

September 10, 1935 — September 11, 2014

Marion-Jimmy Lee Neber, 78, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Jimmy was born on October 9, 1935 in Williamson County to Howard Lee and Nora Ann (Bulliner) Neber.  He married Alma Lavon Boyer on September 7, 1962 in Marion.  She preceded him in death on September 23, 2011. Mr. Neber was a member of the United States Air Force.  Once honorably discharged, he began his career as a representative for the Lance Corporation.  He was a member of the American Legion. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and was an avid Cubs fan.  He will be missed by all. Survivors include: Sisters: Teresa and John Waterhouse Peggy Miller Betty Hudgens Sister-in-laws: Mae Simmerman Marge Neber Cousin-Steve Knight Several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother, Phillip Neber. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 2pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Ivan Ryan officiating.  Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery with military rites being performed by the Marion VFW and American Legion with assistance from the Scott Air Force Military Honor Guard.  Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of service, Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the Ritual Team and the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ 1704 N. Court St/ Marion, IL  62959.
